The competition is fierce and the flavors rich as National Award Winning Rib Cookers of America and local grillers produce the best that their secret recipes have to offer.

The Long Beach BBQ Festival is accepting entries into The Best in Southern California BBQ Rib Cook-off. Contestants need to pre-register. Entries will be taken up to August 12, 2014.

Entrants will give a sample size of no smaller than 3 ozs., to judges for judging. There will be a 5-6 judge panel.

The Long Beach BBQ Festival Entry Form



The Long Beach BBQ Festival uses a blind judging system. Contestants will be competing in three categories: The Best in Southern California BBQ Ribs, Sauce and People’s Choice. Judging will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 and conclude with an award presentation on Sunday, August 24, 2014.

First, second, and third place winners will be announced and a trophy awarded for The Best in Southern California BBQ Ribs and Sauce. The People’s Choice award will be presented to the team that receives the most votes from ticket holders during the competition event.
